How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and close the cold water inlet valve. If leak is severe, also close the hot outlet and gas valve. Risk of electrical shock and water damage.
- Locate leak source: Remove the front cover and inspect all visible joints, the plate heat exchanger, pump, and sensors for signs of dripping or corrosion.
- Tighten or reseal joints: Gently tighten union nuts and replace any flattened or damaged O-rings.
- Replace cracked components: If the flow sensor body or plastic manifolds are cracked, replace them with original Protherm parts.
- Tank inspection (storage models): If water is seeping from the tank body or insulation, the tank may be corroded and require replacement.
Warning: Do not operate the heater with an active leak; water can reach live electrical parts.
