Ruud Outlet Thermistor Fault

Possible Causes

Safety first: Turn OFF power and gas.

Step 1 – Locate outlet thermistor: Remove the front cover and find the thermistor on the hot water outlet pipe.
Step 2 – Inspect and reseat: Check the connector for corrosion or looseness. Reseat it firmly.
Step 3 – Replace outlet thermistor: If damaged or out of spec, remove the sensor and install a new OEM Ruud outlet thermistor. Reconnect wiring and secure it away from hot surfaces.

After replacement, restore power and test. Persistent error 32 may indicate a control board issue.
