How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power, close the cold water inlet, and if safe, close the gas valve. Place a container under the unit to catch water.
Steps:
- Identify source: Remove the front cover and carefully inspect all visible joints, the primary heat exchanger, and any plate heat exchanger for signs of leakage.
- Tighten joints: Gently tighten any accessible compression fittings or unions that are seeping.
- Replace seals: If a specific joint is leaking, replace the O-ring or gasket with a genuine Saunier Duval part.
- Heat exchanger leak: If water is coming from the body of the primary heat exchanger, it will need replacement by a technician.
Warning: Do not continue using the heater with an internal leak. Water can damage electrical components and cause short circuits.
