Possible Causes

Inlet and outlet NTC sensors reading unrealistic difference, One sensor scaled or not in good contact with pipe, Incorrect sensor type installed, Faulty control board interpretation of sensor data

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off power and close water supply before opening the heater.

  • Inspect both NTC sensors: Locate inlet and outlet sensors. Ensure both are firmly attached to their respective pipes and free of heavy scale or corrosion. Clean contact surfaces if needed.
  • Check connectors: Confirm both sensor connectors are fully seated on the control board and not swapped. Refer to the wiring diagram to verify correct positions.
  • Compare resistances: With power off and sensors disconnected, measure resistance of both NTCs at room temperature. Values should be similar. A large difference indicates a faulty sensor that should be replaced.
  • Reset and test: Reconnect sensors, restore water and power, and run hot water. If E06 reappears, replace the suspect sensor(s). If both new sensors still trigger E06, the control board may be defective and should be evaluated by a technician.
