Possible Causes
Incorrect supply voltage (too low or too high), Missing phase on 3-phase model, Incorrect wiring of L1/L2/L3 and neutral, Loose main power connections
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Only a qualified person should test live voltages. Turn off power before opening the wiring compartment.
- Verify wiring: Remove the cover over the electrical terminals. Compare the wiring to the Stiebel Eltron installation diagram for your exact model (single-phase vs three-phase). Correct any miswired connections.
- Check voltage: With power on (qualified personnel only), measure line-to-line and line-to-neutral voltages. Confirm they match the nameplate rating. Turn power off after measurements.
- Tighten terminals: With power off, tighten all main power terminal screws to the specified torque. Loose connections can cause voltage drops and errors.
- Reset unit: Restore power and see if E10 clears. If correct voltage and wiring are confirmed but the error persists, the control board’s voltage sensing circuit may be faulty and require replacement.
