Possible Causes

Air trapped in heat exchanger, Low system pressure, Faulty pressure sensor or switch, Recently drained or newly installed system not fully purged

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off power before purging air or opening any internal components.

  • Purge air: Open multiple hot water taps fully and allow water to run until all air is expelled and flow is steady. On some models, there may be a manual air bleed screw—follow the manual if present.
  • Check system pressure: Ensure building water pressure is within the specified range. Low pressure can prevent proper operation.
  • Inspect pressure sensor/switch: Locate the pressure sensor or switch inside the unit. Check wiring connections and look for leaks or corrosion around the sensor body.
  • Reset and test: After purging and verifying pressure, restore power and test. If E14 persists, the pressure sensor/switch may need replacement with the correct OEM part.
