Possible Causes
Tripped circuit breaker, Blown internal fuse on Takagi PCB, Loose power cord or wiring connection, Faulty power outlet or GFCI trip
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the circuit breaker before opening any electrical panels. If you are not comfortable working with electricity, contact an electrician or technician.
Steps:
- 1. Check breaker and GFCI: Locate the breaker feeding the water heater and ensure it is ON. Reset any tripped GFCI outlets in the circuit.
- 2. Verify outlet power: If the unit plugs into an outlet, test the outlet with another device or a tester to confirm power.
- 3. Inspect power cord and switch: Ensure the power cord is fully plugged in and any local disconnect switch is ON.
- 4. Internal fuse: With power OFF, remove the front cover and locate the internal fuse on the PCB (if equipped). If visibly blown, replace only with the same type and rating. If it blows again, a deeper electrical fault exists and requires a technician.
