Possible Causes
Blocked recirculation line, failed circulation pump (if equipped), air lock in loop, flow sensor malfunction
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off electrical power and close water valves if you will open any plumbing connections.
Steps:
- Identify if your model has a pump: Some Tesy water heaters for solar or circulation systems include an internal or external pump and flow sensor.
- Check valves and filters: Ensure all isolation valves in the recirculation loop are open. Clean any inlet strainers or filters.
- Bleed air: Open bleed valves or high points in the loop to remove trapped air that can stop flow.
- Test pump operation: With power ON (by a qualified person), listen or feel for pump vibration when it should be running. If silent and not drawing current, the pump may be failed.
- Inspect flow sensor: Remove and clean the flow sensor if accessible; scale or debris can block it.
- Replace faulty components: Replace the circulation pump or flow sensor as needed. Reset the heater and verify that E14 clears.
