Possible Causes
Blocked hot outlet pipe, faulty thermostatic mixing valve, closed isolation valve on hot outlet, clogged aerators or filters
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Water inside the tank may be very hot. Open taps carefully to avoid scalding.
Steps:
- Check other taps: Confirm if the issue is at all hot taps or only specific ones. If only some, clean their aerators and filters.
- Inspect valves: Ensure the hot outlet isolation valve near the heater is fully open.
- Check mixing valve: If a thermostatic mixing valve is installed on the outlet, verify it is not stuck. Exercise the control and, if necessary, remove and descale or replace the thermostatic mixing valve.
- Flush outlet line: With water supply off, disconnect the hot outlet near the heater and check for blockages or scale. Clean and reconnect.
