Tesy
Normal Expansion Drip or Overpressure Discharge
Water dripping from the safety valve discharge pipe periodically.

Possible Causes
Thermal expansion during heating, faulty or scaled safety valve, excessive mains pressure without expansion vessel, blocked expansion path
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: The discharge pipe may carry very hot water. Do not cap or block the safety valve outlet.
Steps:
- Determine if normal: Small intermittent drips during heating are normal as water expands.
- Check mains pressure: If discharge is continuous or heavy, measure mains pressure. If above manufacturer’s limit, install a pressure reducing valve and, if required, an expansion vessel.
- Test safety valve: Operate the manual test lever on the Tesy safety / relief valve to flush debris. If it continues to leak, replace the valve.
- Inspect for scale: In hard water areas, scale can prevent proper sealing. Replacement is usually more reliable than cleaning.
