Possible Causes
Burned-out heating element, internal element break due to limescale, loose element terminal, partially open thermal fuse in element assembly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Switch off power at the breaker and verify with a multimeter. Water may still be hot—open a tap to check before working.
Steps:
- Access element terminals: Remove the lower cover to expose the element flange and wiring.
- Check continuity: Disconnect wires from the element and measure resistance across its terminals. An infinite reading indicates a failed element.
- Inspect for scale: If the element is heavily scaled, it may have overheated and failed. Plan to descale the tank.
- Replace element: Drain the tank below element level, remove the flange, and install a new Tesy heating element assembly with a new gasket. Tighten bolts evenly.
- Refill and test: Refill the tank fully, bleed air from hot taps, then restore power and confirm proper heating.
