How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Gas valve work must be carried out only by a qualified gas engineer. Isolate gas and power before any work.
- Check wiring: Inspect the gas valve connector and harness for damage, loose pins, or signs of overheating. Repair or replace as necessary.
- Measure coil resistance: With power off, measure the resistance of the gas valve coils and compare with Vaillant specifications. Replace the gas valve if readings are out of range or coils are open/shorted.
- Check PCB output: During an ignition attempt, verify that the PCB is sending the correct voltage to the gas valve. If not, the PCB may be faulty.
- Replace faulty components: Fit a new gas valve or PCB as required, following Vaillant procedures for gas tightness testing and combustion adjustment.
- Commissioning: After replacement, perform a full gas soundness test and combustion analysis.
