Water heater is leaking from the condensate pipe or trap area

Safety: Isolate power. Condensate is mildly acidic; wear gloves and eye protection.

• Inspect condensate trap: Remove the trap and check for debris or sludge. Clean thoroughly and refill with water before refitting.
• Check pipework: Ensure the condensate pipe is not frozen, kinked, or blocked. Thaw frozen sections gently and insulate to prevent recurrence.
• Secure connections: Tighten or reseat any loose hoses or push-fit connections.
• Replace damaged parts: If the trap or pipe is cracked, replace with Vaillant-approved components.
• Test operation: Run the heater and confirm that condensate drains freely without leaks.
