Vokera water heater displays code 09, appliance locks out on flue or combustion safety fault

Safety first: Turn off the appliance and do not attempt to run it until the flue system has been checked. Risk of carbon monoxide exposure.

Owner checks:

• From outside, visually inspect the flue terminal for obstructions such as leaves, plastic bags, or ice.
• Ensure that any condensate pipe from the heater is not frozen or blocked, especially in cold weather.

Engineer checks:

• Inspect the entire flue system for correct assembly, slope, and sealing according to Vokera instructions.
• Check for condensate pooling in the flue or sump and clear any blockages.
• Test any flue temperature or safety sensors fitted and replace if faulty.
• Perform a combustion analysis to ensure safe operation.
