Possible Causes
Blocked DHW flow sensor turbine, Limescale in cold water inlet filter, Faulty flow sensor reed switch or Hall sensor, Wiring harness damage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Close the cold water inlet to the Weishaupt water heater and relieve pressure by opening a hot tap before disassembly.
- Clean inlet filter: Remove the cold water inlet union at the heater and take out the mesh filter. Rinse under running water to remove debris and reinstall.
- Inspect flow sensor: Locate the DHW flow sensor assembly (often on the cold inlet). Remove it according to the manual. Check the plastic turbine for scale or dirt that could prevent rotation. Clean gently with a soft brush and descaling solution if needed.
- Check sensor operation: If accessible, use a multimeter to monitor the sensor output while spinning the turbine by hand. You should see pulses or changing resistance depending on sensor type.
- Reassemble and test: Refit the sensor, open the cold inlet, check for leaks, then restore power. Run hot water and confirm stable operation.
- Replace if needed: If E06 persists, replace the complete Weishaupt DHW flow sensor assembly.
