Possible Causes

Defective flue gas NTC sensor, Broken sensor wiring, Overheated flue due to blockage, Control board sensor circuit fault

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off power and allow the flue and heat exchanger to cool. Do not run the heater with a suspected flue blockage.

  • Inspect flue gas sensor: Locate the flue gas temperature sensor on the flue collector or outlet of the Weishaupt heat exchanger. Check that it is firmly attached and not physically damaged.
  • Check wiring: Follow the sensor cable back to the control board, looking for chafing, burns, or loose connectors. Reseat the plug.
  • Measure sensor: Disconnect the sensor and measure its resistance. Compare to the Weishaupt NTC chart. Replace if out of specification.
  • Check for flue blockage: Inspect the flue system for obstructions or severe corrosion that could cause excessive flue temperatures. This should be done by a qualified technician.
  • Board diagnosis: If a new sensor does not clear E07, the control board may require replacement.
