Possible Causes

Defective flow NTC sensor, Loose or corroded sensor connector, Sensor shorted by moisture, Control board input failure

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Isolate power before working on sensors or wiring.

  • Locate flow sensor: The primary flow NTC on Weishaupt water heaters is usually clipped to the flow pipe leaving the heat exchanger or inserted into a sensor pocket.
  • Check mounting: Ensure the sensor is firmly attached and making good thermal contact with the pipe or pocket.
  • Inspect wiring: Check the cable for damage and reseat the connector on the control board.
  • Measure resistance: Disconnect the sensor and measure its resistance at room temperature. Compare with the Weishaupt NTC chart. Replace if out of range.
  • Board diagnosis: If a new sensor does not resolve E11, the control board may be defective and should be replaced by a professional.
