Possible Causes
Defective return NTC sensor, Poor sensor contact to pipe, Wiring harness fault, Control board sensor channel failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power before accessing internal components.
- Locate return sensor: The return NTC is typically on the return pipe entering the Weishaupt heat exchanger.
- Check attachment: Ensure the sensor is clipped tightly to the pipe and insulated as specified to avoid false readings.
- Inspect cable: Look for kinks, cuts, or signs of overheating. Reseat the connector at both ends.
- Test sensor: Measure resistance and compare to the Weishaupt NTC table. Replace if faulty.
- Further diagnosis: If E12 persists with a good sensor, a technician should evaluate the control board.
