How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF power or gas and allow water to cool.
Descaling procedure:
- Connect a hose to the drain valve and drain several gallons, then close valve.
- Open cold supply briefly to stir sediment, then drain again. Repeat until water runs clear.
- For electric models, remove lower element and use a wet/dry vacuum with a small tube to remove sediment from the bottom.
- Consider installing a water softener or performing annual flushes to prevent recurrence.
