Possible Causes
Faulty fan motor, Blocked or restricted flue, Faulty fan speed sensor or wiring, Faulty control PCB fan driver
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate electrical power and gas. Fan and flue work must be carried out by a qualified engineer.
User checks:
- Visually inspect the external flue terminal for obstructions such as leaves, plastic bags, or ice. Do not insert objects into the flue.
- Attempt a single reset after clearing any obvious obstruction.
Engineer checks:
- Verify the fan receives correct voltage from the PCB during start-up; if voltage present but fan does not run or is noisy, replace the fan assembly.
- Inspect the flue system for correct installation, slope, and any signs of crushing or water ingress; rectify as needed.
- Check the fan speed feedback (Hall sensor or tacho) wiring and signals to the PCB; repair damaged harnesses.
- If fan and wiring are sound, test/replace the main control PCB as per Worcester Bosch procedures.
