Possible Causes
Blocked brine refill orifice, Stuck brine valve, Closed brine line, Incorrect BLFC size or installation
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the softener and close the inlet valve before disassembling the brine circuit.
- Check water level: After a regeneration, open the brine tank and confirm whether any water is present. If completely dry, proceed.
- Inspect brine line: Ensure the brine line from the control valve to the brine tank is not kinked or disconnected. Re-seat fittings as needed.
- Clean BLFC: Remove the brine line flow control fitting at the control valve. Clean any debris from the orifice and verify the correct size for your system.
- Check brine valve movement: Inspect the brine valve for free movement. Clean or replace if stuck.
- Test refill: Run a manual regeneration and watch the brine tank during the refill stage. If water still does not enter, the brine valve assembly or control valve may need replacement.
