Moisture intrusion into keypad, Damaged keypad membrane, Loose ribbon cable, Control board input fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the softener before removing the control panel.
- Dry the panel: If condensation or splashes have reached the keypad, allow the unit to dry completely. Do not use heat guns or hair dryers directly on the electronics.
- Check ribbon cable: Remove the front panel and reseat the ribbon cable between the keypad/display and the main board.
- Inspect keypad: Look for cracks or delamination of the keypad membrane. Replace the keypad or entire front panel if damaged.
- Board input: If a known-good keypad still does not respond, the control board’s input circuitry may be defective and require replacement.
