Possible Causes
Salt level below sensor, Salt bridge preventing salt from contacting water, Faulty salt level sensor (if equipped)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No electrical work is required for this step, but avoid lifting heavy salt bags if you have physical limitations.
- Check salt level: Open the brine tank lid and visually inspect the salt level. Add high-purity solar or pellet salt to at least halfway up the tank.
- Break salt bridge: If the top of the salt looks solid but there is an empty space underneath, a salt bridge has formed. Use a broom handle or similar blunt tool to gently push down and break the crust, being careful not to damage the brine well or float.
- Verify water in brine tank: Ensure there is some water at the bottom of the tank. If completely dry, the system may not be refilling properly; check the brine valve and refill settings.
- Sensor check (if equipped): If the indicator remains on after refilling, inspect the salt level sensor wiring and clean any salt buildup from the sensor probe. Replace the sensor if it is corroded or damaged.
- Run regeneration: Manually start a regeneration to ensure the system draws brine correctly after correcting the salt level.
