Possible Causes

Collapsed resin bed blocking distributor, Plugged inlet screen, Severely fouled piston and seals, Mispositioned bypass valve

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Leave the unit in BYPASS to maintain household water while you troubleshoot. Shut off power before opening the valve.

  • Confirm bypass position: Double-check that the bypass is not partially closed or misaligned. Set it fully to SERVICE and test flow.
  • Inspect inlet screen: Remove the inlet fitting and check for a screen or filter clogged with sediment. Clean or replace as needed.
  • Check resin tank: Remove the control valve from the mineral tank. Inspect the top of the resin bed and the upper basket for signs of collapse or blockage.
  • Inspect distributor tube: Ensure the central distributor tube is not cracked or blocked. If resin has migrated into the tube, the bottom screen may have failed.
  • Service resin and internals: If the resin is severely fouled or compacted, replace the resin and any damaged baskets or distributor tube. Reassemble and flush thoroughly.
