Possible Causes
Drive motor stalled against jammed piston, Failing motor, Noisy power transformer, Loose mounting hardware
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit immediately if you smell burning or the motor is excessively hot.
- Locate source: With the cover removed (and power briefly applied), carefully listen to determine if the hum is from the motor or transformer.
- Check for jams: If the motor hums but the cam does not move, unplug the unit, then inspect the piston and cam for binding or debris. Free the jam or replace the piston/seal kit.
- Inspect motor: If the motor is hot or seized, replace the drive motor.
- Transformer hum: A mild transformer hum can be normal, but if loud, ensure the transformer is securely mounted and not vibrating against the housing. Replace if excessively noisy.
