Softener uses very little or no salt over weeks of operation

Safety: Minimal risk; avoid lifting heavy salt bags if you have physical limitations.

• Check regeneration history: Note the last regeneration date on the display. If it has not regenerated recently, troubleshoot the timer or meter.
• Inspect brine tank: Look for a salt bridge and break it if present. Confirm there is water at the bottom of the tank.
• Observe a regeneration: Manually start a regeneration and confirm that the brine level drops during brine draw. If not, service the injector and brine system.
• Verify programming: Ensure hardness and capacity are set correctly so that the unit regenerates at appropriate intervals.
