Brine tank leak
Water leaks from the brine tank onto the floor
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Cracked brine tank, Loose brine line connection, Overflow due to stuck float, Hole from corrosion or impact
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit and avoid slipping on wet floors. Salt water can damage some flooring.
- Identify leak point: Dry the outside of the brine tank and observe where water appears—at fittings, seams, or the bottom.
- Check fittings: Tighten the brine line connection at the tank and inspect the grommet for cracks. Replace grommet or fittings if leaking.
- Inspect float and overflow: Ensure the safety float is operating and not stuck. If the tank has overflowed, correct the brine valve and float issues before refilling.
- Tank damage: If the tank itself is cracked or has a hole, replace the brine tank with an AFWFilters-compatible unit. Transfer the float assembly and brine well if they are in good condition.
