E08 displayed and the Amfa4000 fails to refill the brine tank after regeneration
Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.
Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off water supply to the Amfa4000 and disconnect power. Expect some water spillage when opening the valve head.
- 1. Confirm no refill: After a regeneration, open the brine tank and check if water level has risen. If it remains low or dry, proceed with checks.
- 2. Inspect refill line: Ensure the small refill line from the valve head into the brine tank is not kinked or blocked.
- 3. Clean refill orifice: Remove the refill fitting or plug on the Amfa4000 valve head (refer to service diagram). Clear any debris from the small orifice using a soft brush and rinse with clean water.
- 4. Check refill solenoid (if present): If your Amfa4000 uses an electric refill solenoid, test the coil for continuity with a multimeter. Replace the solenoid assembly if open circuit.
- 5. Inspect piston/seal pack: If the valve uses an internal piston for refill, remove the piston assembly and check for scoring, swelling, or debris. Clean or replace the Amfa4000 seal and spacer kit as needed.
Reassemble carefully, restore water and power, then run a manual regeneration and observe the brine tank during the refill stage. If E08 persists, a full valve head rebuild or replacement may be required.
