Salt Level Sensor Fault
E10 displayed and the Amfa4000 reports low salt even when the brine tank contains salt

Possible Causes
Failed Amfa4000 salt level probe, Salt bridge preventing contact with brine, Disconnected sensor wiring, Corroded sensor terminals
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before handling any electrical sensor wiring. Wear gloves when working in the brine tank.
- 1. Break salt bridges: Open the brine tank and use a plastic or wooden tool to gently break up any hardened salt crust (salt bridge) that may be suspended above the water level. Do not use metal tools that could damage the tank.
- 2. Verify actual salt level: Ensure there is at least several inches of loose salt pellets in the tank. Top up if low.
- 3. Inspect salt level sensor: Locate the Amfa4000 salt level probe or float (if fitted). Clean off salt buildup and ensure it moves freely or is fully submerged as designed.
- 4. Check wiring and connections: Trace the sensor cable to the control head. Confirm the connector is secure and free of corrosion. Reseat if necessary.
- 5. Reset the alert: Use the control panel to clear the low salt warning and monitor if E10 returns.
If the sensor is clean, properly positioned, and wired correctly but E10 persists, the salt level sensor or control board input may be defective and require replacement.
