Possible Causes
Cracked brine tank wall, Loose brine line connection at tank or valve, Faulty brine well grommet, Overfilled brine tank due to float failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and close the inlet valve. Brine is corrosive; protect nearby metal surfaces and flooring.
- 1. Identify leak location: Dry the outside of the brine tank and observe where new moisture appears—at the base, sidewall, or fittings.
- 2. Check brine line fittings: Tighten hose clamps or compression nuts at the brine tank and valve head. Replace any cracked tubing.
- 3. Inspect brine well and float: Remove the brine well cover and ensure the float assembly and grommet are seated correctly and not cracked.
- 4. Correct overfill: If the tank is overfull, bail out excess brine and service the float and refill valve as described for overfill faults.
If the brine tank itself is cracked, it should be replaced with a compatible Amfa4000 brine tank.
