Possible Causes

Closed or partially closed inlet shutoff valve, Clogged inlet filter screen, Failed inlet (fill) valve coil, Kinked or blocked inlet hose

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off electrical power to the softener and close the main water supply before disassembly. Depressurize by opening a nearby cold-water tap.

  • Check house water supply: Verify the main shutoff and the softener’s inlet shutoff valve are fully open. Ensure there is normal water pressure at nearby faucets.
  • Inspect inlet hose: Look for kinks, sharp bends, or crushing on the flexible hose feeding the Aqmos softener. Straighten or replace if damaged.
  • Clean inlet filter screen: At the softener’s inlet connection, remove the hose and carefully pull out the small mesh filter (if fitted). Rinse under running water to remove sediment and reinstall.
  • Test inlet valve coil: With power off, disconnect the wiring to the inlet valve coil. Use a multimeter to check for continuity. An open circuit indicates a failed valve that must be replaced.
  • Reset control: Restore power and water, then perform a manual regeneration start according to the Aqmos manual. If E01 returns immediately, the inlet valve assembly or control board may require replacement.
