Possible Causes
Disconnected salt sensor cable, Corroded salt probe, Failed salt level sensor, Contamination or bridging in brine tank
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power. Wear gloves when working inside the brine tank.
- Inspect brine tank: Remove the lid and check for salt bridges (hard crust above water) or mush (sludge at bottom). Break up bridges with a broom handle and remove mush with a scoop.
- Check sensor wiring: Locate the salt level sensor (float or probe assembly) in the brine tank. Follow its cable to the control head and ensure the connector is fully seated.
- Clean sensor: Gently remove the sensor assembly. Rinse off salt buildup with warm water. Do not use abrasive tools that could damage probes or floats.
- Inspect for damage: Look for cracked floats, broken wires, or corroded contacts. Replace the salt level sensor if any damage is found.
- Reset and test: Reinstall the sensor, refill the tank with appropriate salt, restore power, and clear the error according to the Aqmos manual. If E05 remains, the control board’s sensor input may be defective.
