Possible Causes
Loose display ribbon cable, Failed display module, Faulty low-voltage power supply on PCB, Moisture ingress in control head
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the softener before removing the control cover.
- Check for moisture: Inspect the control housing for condensation or water leaks from plumbing above. Fix any leaks and dry the area thoroughly.
- Inspect display connections: Locate the ribbon cable or connector between the display and main PCB. Reseat the connector firmly.
- Examine PCB components: Look for burnt or cracked components in the low-voltage power section (near the power input). Any visible damage suggests PCB replacement.
- Test power adapter (if external): Measure output voltage of the external power supply and compare with the rating. Replace if out of tolerance.
- Replace display module: If the backlight or segments are missing despite correct voltages, replace the display module or entire control head as supplied by Aqmos.
