Possible Causes
High water pressure, Rapid closing of valve ports, Lack of water hammer arrestors, Long rigid pipe runs without cushioning
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Be cautious when adjusting pressure regulators.
- Measure pressure: Use a gauge to check house water pressure. If above manufacturer recommendations (often 5 bar), adjust or install a pressure reducing valve.
- Install hammer arrestors: Fit water hammer arrestors near the softener or at problem fixtures to absorb shock.
- Secure piping: Ensure pipes around the Aqmos unit are properly clipped and supported to reduce movement.
- Check valve operation: If hammering is extreme, the valve may be slamming shut due to internal wear. Inspect and replace seals or the valve head if necessary.
