Possible Causes

Cracked bottom distributor, Damaged upper screen, Overpressure or water hammer damage, Incorrect resin size or type

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off water, place unit in bypass, and depressurize before opening the tank.

  • Confirm resin presence: Check faucet aerators and strainers for small amber or yellow beads.
  • Inspect tank internals: Remove the control head and look down the tank. If resin level is low or beads are floating freely, the bottom distributor may be broken.
  • Remove resin: Siphon or vacuum out remaining resin into suitable containers.
  • Replace distributor: Remove the central distributor tube and bottom basket. Install a new Aqmos-compatible distributor assembly.
  • Refill resin: Refill with the correct type and quantity of resin, reassemble, and flush thoroughly before returning to service.
