Softener stuck in regeneration and does not return to service mode

Safety: Unplug the unit and isolate it with bypass valves.

• Attempt manual advance: Use the manual advance function (if available) to step through stages. If it will not advance, suspect mechanical issues.
• Inspect motor and gears: Remove the cover and check that the motor turns and gears are intact. Replace if stripped or seized.
• Check piston movement: Remove the piston and inspect for scoring or swelling. Replace piston and seals if they do not move smoothly.
• Test position switch: Verify that the cam actuates the position switch and that the switch has continuity when engaged.
