Possible Causes
Damaged O-ring between valve and tank, Cracked valve body, Over-tightened plumbing stressing the head, Freeze damage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off water supply, place the unit in bypass, and depressurize by opening a tap.
- Locate leak: Dry the area and observe where water emerges—at the tank/valve joint, fittings, or cracks.
- Check fittings: Tighten inlet/outlet fittings gently. Do not overtighten plastic threads.
- Inspect tank O-ring: If leaking at the tank neck, remove the control head, inspect and replace the large O-ring, and clean mating surfaces.
- Check for cracks: Examine the valve body for hairline cracks, especially if the unit experienced freezing. Replace the valve head if cracked.
