Possible Causes
Worn cam or gears, Failing drive motor, Debris in valve body, Loose mounting of control head
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before removing covers.
- Identify noise source: Listen carefully during regeneration to locate whether the noise comes from the motor, gears, or water flow.
- Check mounting: Ensure the control head is firmly attached to the resin tank and that the tank is stable on the floor.
- Inspect gears and cam: Remove the control cover and examine gears for broken teeth or excessive wear. Replace the gear kit if damaged.
- Check for debris: If grinding is heard, debris may be in the valve body. Disassemble the valve head as per Aqmos instructions, clean internal passages, and replace seals if worn.
- Replace motor if needed: A motor that hums but does not turn, or is excessively loud, should be replaced.
