E01
Aqua Dial
Inlet Water Supply Fault
Control panel shows E01 and softener will not start a regeneration cycle

Possible Causes
Closed or partially closed inlet isolation valve, Blocked inlet strainer on bypass/valve head, Low mains water pressure to softener, Kinked or crushed inlet hose/pipe to Aqua Dial valve
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off electrical power to the softener and close the inlet and outlet isolation valves before disconnecting any pipework. Relieve pressure by opening a nearby tap.
- Check inlet isolation valve: Ensure the Aqua Dial softener's inlet valve (usually marked IN or with an arrow) is fully open. Many Aqua Dial units are installed with a 3-valve bypass set; confirm the bypass is closed and the inlet and outlet valves are open.
- Inspect inlet hose/pipe: Look for kinks, sharp bends, or crushed plastic pipe leading into the valve head. Straighten or re-route as needed.
- Clean inlet strainer: On many Aqua Dial control valves there is a small mesh strainer at the inlet. Shut off water, depressurise, then unscrew the inlet union and carefully remove and rinse the strainer under running water. Refit and check for leaks.
- Check mains pressure: If household pressure is very low, the valve may not detect adequate flow. Verify that other taps have normal pressure. If not, contact your water supplier or a plumber.
- Reset the unit: Restore power, open valves slowly, then follow the Aqua Dial manual to clear E01 and initiate a manual regeneration to confirm normal operation.
