Possible Causes
Stuck or scaled flow turbine in Aqua Dial valve, Failed Hall-effect flow sensor, Broken or disconnected flow sensor wiring, Debris lodged in meter housing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate water and power. Depressurise the system by opening a tap before removing any valve components.
- Verify symptom: Run a tap and check the display. If the flow indicator does not move or usage does not register, the meter is not working.
- Access flow meter: On many Aqua Dial valves, the turbine and sensor are located in a side port or integrated into the valve body. Remove the retaining clip or screws as per the service manual.
- Inspect and clean turbine: Carefully remove the turbine wheel. Rinse under running water and remove any grit or scale. Ensure it spins freely on its shaft.
- Check sensor and wiring: Inspect the Hall sensor and its cable for damage. Reseat the connector on the control board.
- Reassemble and test: Refit the turbine and sensor, restore water and power, and run water through the system. Confirm that the flow indicator on the display responds.
- Replace meter assembly: If there is still no flow signal, replace the Aqua Dial flow meter/turbine assembly.
