E09 displayed and the unit overfills the brine tank or floods during refill

Safety first: Immediately place the softener in bypass and unplug it to stop further filling. Mop up any spilled water to prevent slip hazards.

• Check brine safety float: Remove the brine well cover and ensure the float moves freely up and down. If it is stuck in the down position, clean or replace the float assembly.
• Inspect brine line: Ensure the brine line is correctly connected and not siphoning water into the tank from a higher drain point.
• Review settings: Enter programming mode and verify the brine refill time or salt setting matches the model specification and salt usage.
• Valve inspection: With water off and pressure relieved, remove the brine valve assembly from the Aqua Dial head (if serviceable). Check for debris or scale preventing proper closure. Clean and reassemble.
• Test refill: Restore power and water, then run a manual regeneration while observing the refill stage. If water does not stop at the correct level, the brine valve or control board may need replacement.
