Salt turns to mush or sludge at the bottom of the brine tank

Safety first: Bypass the softener and unplug it before cleaning the brine tank.

• Empty tank: Scoop out salt mush and remaining salt. Use a wet/dry vacuum if available.
• Clean interior: Rinse the tank with warm water and scrub any residue. Avoid harsh chemicals.
• Refill correctly: Refill with high-purity tablet or pellet salt recommended for Aqua Dial units, and do not overfill.
• Run regeneration: After refilling and reconnecting, run a manual regeneration to re-establish proper brine concentration.
