Aqua Dial No Brine Draw / No Regeneration Salt Usage

Softener uses very little or no salt over several weeks

Possible Causes

Blocked brine injector or venturi, Salt bridge in brine tank, Disconnected or kinked brine line, Faulty brine valve in Aqua Dial head

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Isolate power and use bypass valves if you need to work on the valve head or brine tank.

  • Check salt level pattern: Mark the salt level and monitor over a week. If it does not drop, the unit is not using salt.
  • Break salt bridge: Push a broom handle gently down through the salt. If you feel a hollow space before reaching water, break up the crust so salt can contact the water.
  • Inspect brine line and float: Ensure the brine line is connected, not kinked, and that the brine float moves freely.
  • Clean injector: Follow the injector cleaning steps described under E02.
  • Run manual regeneration: After cleaning, run a regeneration and confirm that the brine level drops during the brine draw stage.
