Possible Causes
Insufficient rinse time in Aqua Dial programming, High salt dose setting, Blocked drain causing poor rinse, Incorrect valve positioning after regeneration
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Avoid drinking water that tastes strongly of salt until the issue is resolved.
- Run extra rinse: Manually start a regeneration and allow it to complete, then run several minutes of water at a tap to flush lines.
- Check settings: Ensure the rinse and backwash times are set to factory defaults for your model.
- Inspect drain line: Confirm the drain line is not restricted, allowing full flow during rinse stages.
- Reduce salt dose: If set higher than recommended, reduce the salt setting to the standard value.
- Valve service: If salty taste persists, the valve may not be fully returning to service position; inspect piston and seals as per E10.
