Possible Causes
Loose tank adapter, Cracked Aquabion control head, Damaged O-ring or seal at tank neck, Over-tightened plumbing fittings
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit, close inlet/outlet valves, and relieve pressure. Place towels or a tray under the unit.
- Identify leak source: Dry the area and observe where water first appears: at the tank neck, inlet/outlet unions, or control head body.
- Tighten unions: Gently tighten any loose inlet/outlet unions by hand, then a small additional turn with a wrench. Do not overtighten.
- Inspect tank O-ring: If leaking at the tank neck, remove the control head and inspect the tank O-ring. Replace if flattened, cracked, or damaged. Lubricate the new O-ring with silicone grease before reassembly.
- Check for cracks: If the Aquabion control head or tank is cracked, replacement of the control valve or resin tank is required.
Warning: Never attempt to repair a cracked pressure vessel (resin tank) with glue or epoxy; replace the tank.
