Possible Causes
Stuck brine float assembly, Leaking brine valve in control head, Blocked brine drain, Incorrect brine fill programming
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit. Do not allow the brine tank to overflow onto electrical components.
- Stop water to brine tank: Close the inlet valve to the softener to prevent further filling.
- Check float assembly: Remove the brine well cover and inspect the brine float and safety shutoff. Ensure it moves freely and is not jammed with salt or debris. Clean and reassemble.
- Remove excess water: Use a wet/dry vacuum or a small pump to lower the brine tank water level to just above the grid or bottom.
- Inspect brine valve: The brine refill valve in the control head may be leaking. After depressurizing, remove and inspect the brine valve components for debris or worn seals. Replace the brine valve kit if necessary.
- Check programming: Verify that the brine fill time and salt dosage are correctly set for your Aquabion model and resin capacity.
Warning: Brine is corrosive. Protect nearby metal surfaces and electrical devices from splashes and spills.
