Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect electrical power and close the inlet valve before opening the valve head.
Steps:
- Listen for motor: Restore power briefly and start a manual regeneration. If you do not hear the AquaClean valve motor running, the motor or its power feed may be faulty.
- Inspect motor harness: Unplug the unit again. Remove the control cover and check the motor wiring harness for loose plugs or damaged insulation.
- Check for mechanical jam: Remove the motor and inspect the rotor disc/cam assembly on the valve head. Look for debris, scale, or broken plastic teeth preventing rotation.
- Test motor resistance: Use a multimeter to measure resistance across the motor terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed motor.
- Check cam switch: If equipped, test the cam position switch or encoder for continuity as the cam is rotated manually.
If the motor is open or the cam assembly is damaged, replace the AquaClean valve motor or rotor/cam kit. After replacement, initiate a manual regeneration to allow the control to relearn the home position.
