Possible Causes
Clogged refill orifice, Failed refill solenoid, Kinked brine refill line, Faulty control board output to refill valve
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off water supply and unplug the unit before servicing the brine refill components.
Steps:
- Check brine tank: After a regeneration, verify if any water is present in the brine tank. If completely dry, proceed with checks.
- Inspect refill line: Follow the small tubing from the valve head to the brine tank. Straighten any kinks and ensure fittings are tight.
- Clean refill orifice: Remove the refill orifice or flow restrictor from the valve head. Soak in vinegar or warm water to dissolve mineral deposits, then rinse.
- Test refill solenoid: With power off, measure resistance across the refill solenoid coil. An open reading indicates a failed solenoid.
- Manual test: Temporarily bypass the control by carefully applying power to the solenoid (qualified persons only) to see if it opens and allows water flow.
If the solenoid is defective or the orifice is damaged, replace the AquaClean brine refill valve or orifice kit.
