Possible Causes
Failed pressure reducing valve (PRV), Inlet pressure above spec, Faulty pressure sensor, Water hammer conditions
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: High pressure can be dangerous. Use caution when opening valves and fittings.
Steps:
- Measure pressure: Attach a pressure gauge to a nearby faucet and record static and dynamic pressure. Compare to AquaClean limits.
- Check PRV: If a pressure reducing valve is installed, verify it is set correctly and not stuck.
- Install or adjust PRV: If pressure is consistently high, install or adjust a PRV upstream of the softener.
- Check for water hammer: Install water hammer arrestors if you notice banging pipes when valves close.
If actual pressure is normal but E13 continues, the AquaClean pressure sensor or control board may be misreading and should be replaced.
