Possible Causes
Kinked drain hose, Clogged drain line, Drain line run too long or too high, Frozen drain line
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit and close the inlet valve before disconnecting the drain line. Have a bucket ready for residual water.
Steps:
- Inspect routing: Ensure the AquaClean drain line has a smooth downward slope with no sharp bends or kinks.
- Check for clogs: Disconnect the drain line at the softener and blow through it or flush with water to confirm it is clear.
- Verify termination: The end of the drain line should discharge into an open drain with an air gap, not submerged in standing water.
- Shorten if needed: If the drain line is excessively long or routed above manufacturer limits, shorten or reroute it.
After clearing restrictions, reconnect the drain line, restore water and power, and run a manual regeneration to confirm E17 is resolved.
